Club president Sadettin Saran is determined to maximize the January window, with the main priority being a new striker. The first name on the list is Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski.

Sporting director Devin Özek is working to convince the 37-year-old star. Should Lewandowski give the green light, Fenerbahçe will immediately begin negotiations with Barcelona. President Saran is personally involved in the process and pushing hard to secure one of the most high-profile transfers in club history.

Timber’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning he is free to negotiate with any club during the January window. Alongside Fenerbahçe, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in the 24-year-old Dutch midfielder.

Fenerbahçe are looking to move quickly to gain an advantage in the race and have already made initial contact with Timber’s representatives. Although Feyenoord have been trying to extend his contract, negotiations have stalled for months.

Timber has scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist in 14 matches this season. He is currently valued at €30 million, while Feyenoord signed him for €7.4 million in the summer of 2022.

Italian Reports: Goretzka Race Between Fenerbahçe and Juventus

According to a report from Italian outlet Leggo, Fenerbahçe and Juventus are competing to sign Leon Goretzka, whose contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season.

Head coach Tedesco is reportedly very keen on bringing in the 30-year-old German midfielder. Former Fenerbahçe sporting director Damien Comolli, now at Juventus, is also pushing for the transfer and is said to be ready to offer €10 million in January.

Goretzka, valued at €22 million, has played only 786 minutes for Bayern this season and has fallen down the midfield hierarchy.

Fenerbahçe manager Domenico Tedesco described the positive atmosphere within the squad but emphasized the need for focus:

“The fans can dream of the best results, but we cannot. The road ahead is long and anything can happen. From Monday to Monday, even planning training or matches can be difficult. We cannot think too far ahead.”

Tedesco also praised the club’s management:

“I’m very happy with the board. Ali Koç brought me here and I am grateful, but I also truly enjoy working with the new president. He’s clear and honest. At a big club, when the president or sporting director changes, it’s not easy to stay if you’re not their appointment. But the president has shown trust in me. That means a lot.”
