Graham Potter, who replaced Julen Lopetegui as West Ham United manager in January on a two-and-a-half-year contract, failed to change the team's fortunes at the London Stadium and parted ways as the club finished second from bottom in the Premier League.

Here is West Ham's statement

"West Ham United can confirm that manager Graham Potter has left the club," read a statement from the club on Saturday lunchtime ahead of Monday night's league game against Everton. The results and performances in the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not lived up to expectations and the board believes that a change is necessary to help improve the team's position in the Premier League as soon as possible."

Palace defeat was the last straw

West Ham United finished 14th last season, where Potter was when he replaced Lopetegui, but this season the club have picked up just three points from five league games and Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace was the final straw.
